Hi everyone! Fall might be over, but it’s never too late to do Fall-themed book tag. Writing this tag made me realize how much I miss going to cafe and drinking these beverages, but alas, I don’t think I can do it anytime soon given my country’s situations. Anyway, thanks to Belle @ This Belle Reads Too for tagging me in the Pumpkin Spice Latte book tag!

PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE
a book you didn’t think you’d love
I bought Roseblood by A.G. Howard on a whim since it was on sale. I haven’t read any of the author’s works either, so I have no idea what to expect. As it turns out, it end up being one of my favorite book last year. The writing is gorgeous, and the yearning in that book is just so swoony.
HOT APPLE CIDER
a book that got you a bit hot under the collar
Magnolia by Kristi Cook remains one of my favorite contemporary books that features hate-to-love trope. The sexual tension in that book is just *chef’s kiss*
PEANUT BUTTER HOT CHOCOLATE
a book that felt like warm hug
I’ve said a few times that First & Then by Emma Mills is one of my comfort reads, since the main character reminds me of myself. On top of that, the romance in this book is also so soft and wholesome, that you can’t help but fall in love with them falling in love <3.
MAPLE PECAN LATTE
a book you enjoyed that was hard to get into
Jade City by Fonda Lee is such an interesting and awesome book, but I have to admit that it’s a bit hard in the beginning since it’s quite complex. It’s also one of the first adult fantasy books I’ve ever read. Nevertheless, I end up loving it so I definitely recommend it.
a vanilla character
The main characters from The Upside of Falling by Alex Light. It wasn’t a bad book per se (in fact, if you’re looking for something light you might want to consider this!), but I also feel like there’s nothing special or memorable about them.
HOT BUTTERED RUM
a book that was velvety smooth to read
I read Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo a few months ago and her writing is just so gorgeous! On top of that, Elizabeth is also the audiobook’s narrator and listening to her is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Definitely the best audiobook I’ve ever read so far!
PUMPKIN CREAM COLD BREW
a character whose temperament is icy cold
For some reasons I’m really struggling with this prompt so I’m just gonna be basic and choose Jude and Cardan from The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. I’m sure I’ve read other books with cold characters but they’re the only one that came to my mind
SALTED CARAMEL MOCHA
a book that you’re salty about
I’m quite sad to say What I Like About You by Marisa Kanter 😦 This book is about book blogger, so I should be happy, but the main character annoyed me so much that I end up disliking this book. The only thing I liked is the relationship between the MC and her brother.
HONEY BEE LATTE
a character who is sweet
The character that immediately came to my mind is Dayo from Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko. I finished this book recently, and sweet is definitely one of his personality.
p.s. if you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend it!
a character you’d take home for christmas
The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang characters aka Rin, Nezha, Kitay, and Venka (especially Kitay!!). They deserve a break, please.
